Arthur Mitchell at Columbia University

Arthur Mitchell: Harlem's Ballet Trailblazer is an exhibit at the new Wallach Art Gallery within the Lenfest Center of the Arts. The Lenfest Center is part of the sparkling new complex just north of 125th Street in Harlem. Mitchell, the first African American star of the New York City Ballet and founder of the Dance Theater of Harlem, has donated his personal archive to the University's Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
