Magazzino Italian Art

This recently-opened museum is, as The New York Times describes it, "an almost comically sleek home for the Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu collection of postwar and recent Italian art." The environment is stunningly stark and elegant, and surrounded by gardens of butterfly-infested wildflowers. The inaugural exhibition is "Margherita Stein: Rebel With a Cause," which highlights the collection of a forward-thinking gallery owner in 21st Century Turin. It's a gorgeously-curated assortment, in a variety of materials, including neon, lead, marble, textiles, taxidermy and, in two wonderful pieces, refrigerated elements. If I'd been wearing socks, they would have been duly knocked off!
