Fricking Fridays

Went to the Frick Collection for the very first time. It was First Fridays, and there were extra activities in the Garden Court; a classical music duo, refreshments and art materials to borrow. Dozens were perched around the fountain, sketching happily.

The collection is amazing. Several of the paintings are iconic. The special exhibition on JMW Turner put a whole other spin on an artist I associated with big, murky oil paintings of ships on fire.
